    A little brisk this morning...

24 degrees when I left the house, light snow. Mostly dry roads, the only sketchy part was on I-70 coming over I-25 and the railyard, as I couldn't really tell if the bridge was icy or just wet. Otherwise, just got a lot of funny looks from the cage pilots. The winter riding season is upon us; Let the stupidity begin!

I'm not gonna lie...it was nice. It almost makes all those months of 110+ degrees worth it. Almost.

Currently on PR3s, last winter it was PR2s, both on the FZ1. If the weather really turns to shit and we have snow/ice built up on the road(like 06), and I get a wild hair to ride, I've got a set of Pirelli MT21s studded up for the XT350 .

Umm, you're much braver than I, right on! I'm a puss, refuse to ride in shit like this, especially with cagey idiots on all sides who still dunno how to drive even in rain, much less snow.

I remember seeing a video--maybe produced by Metzeler--with scooters traversing the Alps in winter... no studs. Seemed like it was impossible...

Know anything about the moto equivalent of something like Blizzaks?

Re: A little brisk this morning...

Been in the balmy 60's all day here in DC... No snow panic, but everyone's freaking out about hurricane Sandy. I guess we'll see how that goes on Sun/Mon. Also, you wouldn't be able to tell if people can't drive in in-climate weather... they can't drive, period!

But before that happens, riding up to PA tomorrow.

Oh, and as Rob said... I'd still rather be in CO.
Do not put off living the life you dream of. Next year may never come. If we are always waiting for something to change...
Retirement, the kids to leave home, the weather or the economy, that's not living. That's waiting!
Waiting will only leaves us with unrealized dreams and empty wishes.

Dunno how the compounding compares, but it looks a LOT like the PR3s...

Yeah, saw someone riding in this morning and I looked at the temp to see it was 29... so I turned up my heat a little.

Great tires, mounted on a Sumo. Anything short of an ice storm is manageable. Would like some more heated gear though.

I almost rode this morning myself but woke up a little too late. Although I did ride last Thursday when it was 27 as I was leaving at 6:50am. Any colder than that and I think I'll puss out next time.
